A Karnataka State Transport Corporation bus lost control on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway near Maddur on Monday and overturned on a service road after hitting a road divider. Over 25 passengers were injured, two of them seriously.

The bus collided with a road divider before toppling over. The injured passengers are being treated at Maddur Hospital, while two seriously injured have been admitted to Mandya MIMS. According to police officials, the bus driver suddenly lost control, leading to the accident. Maddur Traffic Police Station has registered a case and started investigation.

 

Bike collided with culvert, young man died

In another news, a 16-year-old boy died when his motorcycle went out of control and hit a culvert near Nujibaltila village in Kadapa on the Dharmasthala-Subramanaya Highway in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district. Giving information about the incident, the police said that the deceased has been identified as Ashish. He was a class 10 student in a local private school. He was going to school on his motorcycle when the accident happened. 

Local residents immediately rushed him to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Locals blamed the unscientific construction of the culvert at the accident site for the teenager's death. Police are investigating why minor Ashish was allowed to go to school on a motorcycle. The Kadapa Tehsildar has directed the police to initiate action against the parents of the deceased student.
