Beirut: Following Israel's example of launching a series of attacks on Hezbollah's bases in Lebanon, America's enthusiasm has also increased. The US Army has carried out two major attacks on terrorist bases in Syria. In these attacks, 37 terrorists belonging to the extremist Islamic State (IS) group and an Al Qaeda-linked group have been killed. The US Army gave this information on Sunday. It said that two top terrorists were among the dead.
The US Central Command said in a statement that it carried out a strike in northwestern Syria on Tuesday, targeting a top militant from the al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Din group and eight others. It also reported a strike on September 16 in which it carried out a "massive airstrike" on an IS training camp at a remote undisclosed location in central Syria that killed 28 militants. There are about 900 US troops in Syria, mainly trying to prevent a return of the extremist IS group, which seized large swaths of Iraq and Syria in 2014.
