Trump on Bangladesh  Indian Americans angry over the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh will approach the new Trump administration and Congress next year to demand economic sanctions on the country, an influential Indian-origin community leader has said.

Trump will take action on Bangladesh

Encouraged by President-elect Donald Trump's recent statement on Bangladesh, Indian-origin doctor Dr Bharat Barai expressed confidence that Trump will take action against Bangladesh for the persecution of minority Hindus after taking oath as the 47th President of the United States.

Trump has condemned the attack on Hindus 

Trump had condemned the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh in a statement ahead of the presidential election on November 5. While attending the annual Diwali celebrations in Washington, Barai said, "What will the people of Bangladesh eat if their textile export is cut? Textile export is 80 percent of their business." Barai hoped that such pressure would help stop atrocities on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.

Questions raised on Russia-Ukraine war

On the other hand, Donald Trump (Trump on Bangladesh) has also made it clear that the aim of his government will be to end the Russia-Ukraine war. He has also expressed grief over the deaths of people in the war. Trump said that his government will also work to establish peace in West Asia.

Trump said, we will have to work hard to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. The war between them will be stopped. The elected President said this at the America First Policy Institute meeting held at Mar-a-Lago. This is the first time Trump has made this statement to the people on a policy matter after winning the November 5 election.

Trump said that he has seen the latest reports regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. Millions of people have been killed so far in this war which has been going on for almost three years. These people are soldiers as well as civilians. Therefore, we have to work to stop the war.

Trump said that the priority of his government will be to stop the war because it is a matter of wasting American resources. By American resources, Trump means the military aid being given to Ukraine.
