Train Accident: 25 coaches of a goods train carrying coal for Suratgarh power plant in Rajasthan derailed near Vrindavan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. An official gave this information on Wednesday. Mathura Junction station director S.K. Srivastava confirmed the incident.

Officials said on Wednesday that 25 coaches of a Delhi-bound goods train derailed between Vrindavan Road and Ajhai stations of North Central Railway at around 8.30 pm. Public Relations Officer of NCR Agra Division, Prashasti Srivastava said, "The crew of the goods train is safe. There were no casualties."

 

 

He said that some coaches have derailed while others have overturned. Officials said, "The exact number of overturned coaches is being ascertained." Agra Railway Division Manager Tej Prakash Agarwal told reporters that coaches of a goods train going to Suratgarh Power Plant in Rajasthan derailed while crossing Vrindavan yard at around 8 pm.

The manager of the railway division said that due to this incident, traffic on three railway lines has come to a standstill. Agrawal said that the reason for the incident is not yet known. He said that efforts are being made to restore the affected rail traffic. This incident happened between Vrindavan Road-Aajai station. Many OHE lines have also broken after the accident. 

After this rail accident, about 28 trains have been cancelled. As soon as the officials got the information about this accident, there was chaos in the control room. After this incident, many trains were stopped midway. However, the operation of trains on this route has been started at around 11 pm.
