Bonita said that she comes from a small village Dungri in Rajasthan. She said- Right from the beginning I learned about myself through films. Whenever I used to see a person like me in films, I used to think that yes, he is just like me. And my story also matters. The biggest motivation for me has been that people like me on screen too. People would like to see trans represented on screen too. I used to work in a small production company, where my salary was between 10 to 15 thousand. It became difficult to even survive on that salary.

Bonita further said- I had never thought even in my dreams that I would get an acting role. But here I got to play a true Bollywood film character. So some dreams actually come true. This entire journey has been very difficult for me. The big thing is that I do not have to play anyone's character in the film. In the film, I am touching my own trigger points, which are my own issues. You have to speak about your own things with courage on camera, it takes a lot of courage.

The transgender actor got the lead role for the first time

Bonita's craze for films is evident from the poster of the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, set in the Maratha temple. After coming to Mumbai, Bonita had to struggle a lot. He said that due to how low his salary was, he spent many days at the station. But then one day he got an offer for the film Love Sex Aur Dhokha. He signed this contract and his life changed. Bonita is the first transgender actor in the history of the Hindi film industry who is playing a lead role in a film.
