UP News: The BJP government of Uttar Pradesh led by CM Yogi Adityanath is building its image as an 'Express State'. The 'Ganga Expressway' being built under the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Development Authority is very important. The construction work of Ganga Expressway is in full swing. The government is pushing to complete its construction before Maha Kumbh 2025 but it may get delayed due to rain.

The length of 'Ganga Expressway' is 594 kilometers. This expressway being built from Meerut to Prayagraj will pass through a total of 518 villages in 12 districts of the state. This expressway being built in six lanes can be expanded to eight lanes if needed. A car can be driven at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour on the Ganga Expressway. The distance from Meerut to Prayagraj can be covered in just six hours. After the completion of the construction work of the first phase, the 'Ganga Expressway' will pass through 12 districts of the state, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.

Let us tell you that, there are a total of 13 expressways in the country's largest state ruled by BJP, out of which six are operational, while seven are under construction. The total length of expressways in the state is 3,200 km, in which the 'Ganga Expressway' being built under the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Development Authority (UPEIDA) is very important. After completion of construction, it will prove to be a milestone in the state's GDP.

In the second phase, the mega project will pass through five more districts.
In the second phase, it will be extended from Prayagraj to Mirzapur to Ballia on the border of Bihar. During this, it will reach Ballia via Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi and Ghazipur. The second phase of Ganga Expressway will be 350 km. The total length of both the phases will be around 950 km, and it will become the longest expressway in the country.

The districts through which the Ganga Expressway will pass will witness development and employment. This is expected to increase the state's GDP significantly. People of Bihar will also be easily connected to the national capital by road via Ballia. The total budget for the construction of the 'Ganga Expressway' is Rs 56,000 crore. The total construction cost of the first phase is estimated to be Rs 37,350 crore. This also includes the land acquisition cost of about Rs 9,500 crore.
