New Delhi. Kuwaiti authorities have identified the bodies of 45 Indian citizens killed in a building fire incident. Meanwhile, a special Air Force plane carrying the bodies of 45 Indians has taken off for Kochi. MOS Kirtivardhan Singh is also on board the same plane. Kirtivardhan Singh coordinated with the Kuwaiti authorities to ensure the speedy return of the bodies.

At least 49 foreign workers were killed and 50 others injured when a fire broke out in a six-storey building housing 196 migrant workers in the southern city of Mangaf on Wednesday.

45 Indians and three Filipinos

 

According to the news of the English newspaper 'Arab Times', Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah said that the authorities have identified 48 bodies. Among them are 45 Indians and three Filipino citizens.

Lulu Group chairman will give Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the victims

 

An NRI businessman and chairman of the UAE-based Lulu Group has announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh for the families of each deceased in the tragic Kuwait fire accident. The Government of India and the Government of Kerala have also announced relief funds.

Kirti Vardhan Singh met the people injured in the fire incident

 

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met those injured in the fire incident and assured them of all possible help from the Indian government. He also met First Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad, who expressed condolences on behalf of the Emir and directed to ensure all necessary help and support.
