The fast of Skanda Shashthi is considered very auspicious. It is celebrated every month on the Shashthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha. This time it is being celebrated on 9 September 2024 i.e. today. The festival of Skanda Shashthi is dedicated to Lord Murugan Swami, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Auspicious time of Skanda Shashthi (Skanda Shashti 2024 Shubh Muhurat)

According to the Vedic calendar, the Shashthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month has started on September 8, 2024 at 07:58 pm. At the same time, this date will end at 09:48 pm. After this, Saptami Tithi will begin. Along with this, today's Vijay Muhurta will be from 02:23 pm to 03:13 pm and the twilight muhurta will be from 06:33 pm to 06:56 pm.

 

Skanda Shashthi Puja Vidhi (Skanda Shashthi Puja Vidhi 2024)

  • Get up early in the morning and take a holy bath.

  • Clean your house and temple and make rangoli with rice flour at the entrance of the door.

  • Prepare Prasad for God at home.

  • Install the idol of Lord Kartikeya on an altar and offer him tilak, flowers, garlands, perfume etc.

  • Light a lamp of desi ghee and offer fruits and sweets.
