Bihar News: Garib Rath Express running from Jaynagar in Madhubani district to Anand Vihar escaped a major accident. The engine of Garib Rath Express got separated from the train bogie on the Jaynagar-Darbhanga rail section. After the bogie got separated, it went about a kilometer away. The incident is said to have happened in Thahar village near Khajauli. Due to the incident, the train remained stopped there for 45 minutes. Due to this the train got delayed for an hour. There is no report of anyone being injured in this incident.
Giving information about the incident, an eyewitness passenger said that Garib Rath Express (train number 12435) left from Jaynagar for Anand Vihar on its scheduled time and reached Khajauli railway station at 12:16. After leaving Khajauli, when the train reached near Thahar village, the engine of the train got separated from the bogie near railway gate number 26. Seeing this, the passengers started shouting, hearing the sound the attention of the train driver went towards this.
Locals gave signals to the driver
By the time the driver noticed this, the engine had already travelled a kilometre. The bogie was running on the track without an engine. Then the driver applied the brakes and stopped the engine and the engine was brought back and attached to the bogie.
The incident halted the speed of other trains
Due to the bogie getting separated and the incident, the train remained halted there for 45 minutes. After connecting the entire bogie, the train left for Anand Vihar. However, due to the incident, the train reached its next station Madhubani with a delay of about an hour from its scheduled time. Due to the one-hour delay of the Garib Rath Express, many express trains leaving from Jaynagar were delayed.
What did the train guard say?
The train guard BK Singh said that while the train was moving, the pressure suddenly went to zero. When he inquired, the loco pilot said that the engine had separated. After this, we immediately came to the spot and saw. Whatever action is required in this regard, we have already done it.
