Veteran director-producer Subhash Ghai, who started his journey of making musical films with Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhary starrer 'Pardes' in 1997, released a film in 2001 titled 'Yaadein'. Kareena Kapoor Khan played the role of Jackie Shroff's daughter Isha Puri in this film depicting the story of a single father and his three daughters.

In Amazon Prime Video's trivia story, it has been told that Kareena Kapoor Khan was not the first choice for Subhash Ghai's film 'Yaadein'. It was told that when Priyanka Chopra became Miss World in the year 2000, Subhash Ghai wanted to cast her opposite Hrithik Roshan in his film. However, due to being bound by the contract, Priyanka Chopra refused to be a part of this film.

If you are thinking that after Priyanka Chopra refused to work in the film, Kareena Kapoor got the movie directly, then it is not so. When the Desi Girl refused the offer to work in this movie, Subhash Ghai knocked on the door of Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaho Naa Pyar Hai' co-star Ameesha Patel. The pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha had done wonders in their debut itself, so the director was confident that if Ameesha said yes, then things could work out.

However, at that time Amisha Patel was also not available to do this film. After getting disappointed with Amisha, when the script of the film was read to Kareena Kapoor, she agreed to work in the movie.

However, at that time Kareena's fortunes were in trouble because after her debut film 'Refugee', her second film 'Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai' also flopped at the box office. After that, her film 'Yaadein' was released in 2001, which flopped so badly at the box office that Subhash Ghai took several years to make a musical film again. People did not like the story of this film nor the music.
