Alia or Deepika: Amar Kaushik's choice?
During a Game-Changers segment interview with film critic Komal Nahta, Amar Kaushik was asked in a rapid fire round who he considers a better actress between Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone. At first, Amar cleverly evaded the answer by saying, “I want to work with both of them,” but eventually he chose Alia Bhatt as his favourite actress. This is the same answer that Highway and Tamasha director Imtiaz Ali has also given. Imtiaz has done many hit films with Deepika, but when the same question was asked to him, he too was inclined towards Alia.

However, the interesting thing is that Amar Kaushik has not worked with Deepika or Alia yet. But he did say in an interview in 2024 that he would like to see Deepika in a light-hearted comedy film like Chennai Express. He said that it would be fun to cast an actress like Deepika, who has done serious roles, in a comedy.
Journey from director to producer
After the success of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik has also ventured into the world of production. He co-produced Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan starrer Sky Force, and now his next offering is Thaama – a vampire-based horror-comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is expected to release on Diwali 2025.
