In Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, a station master fell asleep while on duty, due to which the train stood at the station for half an hour waiting for the signal. This matter is of May 3. At Udi Mor Road station near Etawah, the Patna-Kota Express train kept waiting for a signal for about half an hour but due to the station master being asleep, the train remained standing.
This railway station comes under the Agra division. Taking the incident seriously, a show-cause notice has been issued to the station master. Due to this negligence of the station master, a major accident could have happened.
Agra Railway Division PRO Prashasti Srivastava told the news agency, 'We have issued a charge sheet to the station master and disciplinary action is being taken.' Railway officials said that Udi Mod Road station is a small but important station before Etawah as trains going from Agra as well as Jhansi towards Prayagraj pass through this station.
According to sources, the loco pilot of the train had to blow the horn several times to wake up the station master and get the train moving. A source said, 'The station master has accepted his mistake and apologized for the mistake. He said that he was alone at the station as the employee on duty had gone with him for a track inspection.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Tej Prakash Aggarwal has taken the incident seriously as his focus is on improving the timing of trains. He is pushing and encouraging the employees to improve their punctuality.
