This has sparked intense political activity in the country. National President of the Janata Party and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya has supported it, but has also made a demand. Swami Prasad Maurya arrived in Mainpuri on Wednesday, where he welcomed the initiative to provide 33 percent reservation for women. Maurya stated that SC, ST, and OBC women should also participate proportionately in women's reservations, and that proper implementation of this reservation should be ensured.

What did Swami Prasad Maurya say on women's reservation?

Maurya said, "We welcome women's reservations, but there should be no discrimination. Women's reservations should include proportionate participation of women from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes."

Opposition in all-out mood on delimitation

A special day-long session of Parliament begins today to amend the women's reservation bill. The ruling and opposition parties have clashed over this amendment bill. Opposition parties are questioning the government's intentions under the guise of women's reservation. They say the government's goal is to pass the delimitation bill along with the women's reservation bill.

All opposition parties, including the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, have questioned the government's intentions. On Wednesday, an opposition meeting was held at the residence of Congress state president Mallikarjun Kharge, where it was decided to strongly oppose the delimitation provisions being introduced under the guise of women's reservation. However, BSP supremo Mayawati has welcomed the proposal.
