Madras High Court has given an important and big decision saying that if a woman watches porn and masturbates alone, then it is not cruelty to the husband. Actually, a family court had rejected a man's divorce petition, which has been upheld by the High Court.
'If it is common for men to masturbate, why not for women?'
The bench of Justice G.R. Swaminathan and Justice R. Purnima has given the verdict. They said, when it is common for men to masturbate, then how can women be held wrong.
The court said, men cannot have sex immediately after masturbating, but this is not the case with women. So, it has not been proved that the habit of masturbating will have a bad effect on the relationship between husband and wife.
The woman's husband had alleged that his wife masturbates. On this, the court responded that asking the woman to answer about this would be a violation of her freedom. If the woman has sexual relations with someone else after marriage, then this can be the basis for divorce. But just satisfying oneself cannot be the reason for divorce.
The court said- this is not cruelty
While giving its verdict, the court said, "Just watching porn is not cruelty to the husband. It can affect the mental health of the person watching it, but this alone is not enough. If the person watching porn forces his partner to watch it, then it would be cruelty. If it is shown that this addiction is having a bad effect on someone's marital life, then it can be a reason for divorce."
