In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, it proved costly for a woman to leave her first husband and marry her lover. The lover for whom the woman left her husband, married her. But as soon as they got married, he started beating her. Then when she became 8 months pregnant, she was thrown out of the house. Now the victim has appealed to the police for justice.
The victim woman has filed a case against her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and sister-in-law in the women's police station. She also came to Tirhut Range IG office and narrated her ordeal to DSP Umeshwar Chaudhary. The DSP has given instructions to the lady police station head to take immediate action in this matter.
According to the information, Anchal Kumari, a resident of Siwai Patti police station area, left her first husband and married her lover Guddu Kumar in the court on 17 April 2023, against the wishes of her parents. After this she started living with Guddu in his house. But after a few days of marriage, husband Guddu and in-laws started harassing Aanchal. It is alleged that he used to torture her physically and mentally on daily basis.
She also became pregnant from Guddu. Still, her in-laws did not feel pity on her at all. When she became 8 months pregnant, the level of torture increased further. One day Guddu and his family threw Aanchal out of the house. Aanchal has filed a case of assault and abuse against her husband Guddu Kumar, father-in-law Police Rai, mother-in-law Ganauri Devi, sister-in-law Kavita Devi and sister-in-law Gudiya.
The victim says that on December 18, when I lodged a complaint at the women's police station, the police after persuading me sent me back to my in-laws' house. But on 19 December, my in-laws again beat me and threw me out of the house at night. I slept outside the house. Then on 20th December, they made a fatal attack on me. Due to which I reached the IG office to demand justice. ASP Umeshwar Chaudhary said that further action is going on in the case.
