According to the legend, Shani Dev was proud of his power, due to which he decided to fight with Bajrangbali. When Shani Dev arrived to fight, Hanuman ji was meditating on Lord Shri Ram and Shani Dev challenged him to fight. In such a situation, Hanuman ji advised not to fight, but Shani Dev did not listen to him, after which the war started and Shani Dev had to face defeat.

After the war, Bajrangbali applied mustard oil to heal Shani Dev's wounds. Then Shani Dev said that those who offer oil to me and worship Bajrangbali according to the rituals will get relief from all kinds of troubles.
