
An Indian-origin youth has been accused of sexual assault on a flight in the US. According to US federal authorities, a 36-year-old Indian-origin man committed this act with a fellow passenger on a domestic flight. Montana federal prosecutor Kurt Elme said in a statement on April 3 that Bhavesh Kumar Dahiyabhai Shukla has been accused of making abusive sexual contact on a flight from Montana to Texas.
What happens if found guilty?
According to the statement, Shukla is a resident of Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. He has committed sexual assault in the US special aircraft jurisdiction. If Bhavesh Kumar Dahiyabhai Shukla is found guilty, he can be imprisoned for two years. He can also be fined US $ 250,000. Apart from this, he will have to remain under surveillance for five years.

Now Bhavesh Kumar Dahiyabhai Shukla is to appear for arraignment on April 17. The indictment alleges that Shukla had sexual intercourse with the person without his permission on an American Airlines flight from Bozeman to Dallas on January 26, 2025. The US Attorney's Office is prosecuting the case. The statement further said that the case has been investigated by the FBI, ICE and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Police.
