Lucknow News Today: Festive season is in full swing across the country including Uttar Pradesh. In view of this, Section 163 of the Indian Penal Code (formerly Section 144 of IPC) has been implemented in the state capital Lucknow from Thursday (November 14), which will remain in force till January 12, 2025 in the new year.
According to the order issued by Lucknow Commissionerate late on Wednesday (November 13), the upcoming days are Kartik Purnima, Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day, Black Day, Christmas Day and New Year. Apart from this, in view of various entrance examinations, demonstrations by political parties, farmers' organizations and others, Section 163 has been imposed from November 14, 2024.
The order states that the purpose of implementing section 163 is to maintain peace and order and to ensure full compliance with the law. It further states that various festivals and several entrance examinations will be organized in Lucknow from November to January.
In such a situation, there will be a ban on holding dharna at any place other than Eco Garden without permission. For this, the police has also stated the conditions in the order. Under this, there will be a complete ban on shooting with drones in the no-flying zone around CM residence, government offices, assembly except Eco Garden in Lucknow, and movement with flammable substances, lethal weapons including tractor-trolley, horse-cart, bullock or buffalo cart.
In the order issued by the Commissionerate, it has been said that any event without permission within the limits of Lucknow which can affect law and order will be completely banned. Shopkeepers, private companies, online companies present within the Lucknow limits have been asked to get police verification done on recruiting new employees.
Lucknow Commissionerate has warned that violating section 163 of the new prohibition order is a punishable offence under section 223 of BNS. Strict action will be taken against those who violate it. If this order is not withdrawn in between, then it will remain in force till 12 January 2025 next year.
