Kiev. Russia has again carried out air strikes on Ukraine's power plants. It targeted Ukraine's power grid with nine cruise missiles and 27 drones on Wednesday night. Ukraine has announced a blackout across the country. At the same time, Ukraine has also attacked Russia's oil depots with drones. This has increased the possibility of further intensification of efforts to damage each other's infrastructure between the two countries.

The Ukrainian Air Force has said that Russia, which carried out the seventh major attack on Ukrainian power plants three months ago, has again targeted the power grid in the central and eastern regions of Ukraine with nine missiles and 27 martyred drones. Ukraine said that the security forces have succeeded in intercepting all the Russian drones and five cruise missiles.

Seven personnel injured in Russian attack

According to the national power company Ukrainergo, seven employees were injured in the Russian attack. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement saying that the aim of targeting Ukraine's power plants is to disrupt its defense preparations. Ukraine, dependent on Western military aid, is developing a limited but rapid defense industry.

Ukraine begins targeting other refineries

Meanwhile, officials from two regions of the Russian authority have reported that Ukraine has targeted oil depots with drones. After the drone attack two days ago, Ukraine has started targeting other refineries on a large scale. The attack on Wednesday night was also carried out by Ukraine's Security Service, i.e. SBU.

EU agrees to impose more sanctions on Russia

Western countries are continuously making efforts to help Ukraine. European Union ambassadors have agreed on a series of more powerful sanctions against Russia. The Belgian President gave this information on Thursday. This will mainly target Russia's liquid natural gas (LNG) imports. He said that detailed information about this will be given next week. Meanwhile, NATO member Romania has announced to give Patriot missile system to Ukraine.
