New Delhi: The central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving no stone unturned to provide skill development and employment opportunities to the youth. In this connection, registration for the PM Internship Scheme of the Modi government started on Saturday on the occasion of Dussehra. Under the scheme, every trainee or intern will get five thousand rupees every month.

A lump sum amount of Rs 6,000 will also be given as an additional benefit from the government. A portal has been started for companies under the scheme. Registration for candidates started on the portal on Saturday. Candidates will be able to upload their qualifications and other information on the portal till October 25. Out of the stipend of Rs 5,000, companies will give Rs 500 from their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, and the remaining Rs 4,500 will be given by the government.

Reservation rules will be applicable in the scheme

Reservation rules for SC, ST and OBC candidates will apply in this scheme. Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG) will shortlist the candidates between October 27 and November 7. Shortlisted candidates can decide on the internship offer between November 8 and November 15.

The estimated cost of this pilot project is about Rs 800 crore. 10th pass youth between the ages of 21 and 24 can apply for this scheme. Youth between the ages of 21 and 24 who have passed the 10th class examination can apply. The candidate must have a valid certificate and mark sheet.

One crore youth will benefit

This scheme will benefit about one crore youth in the next five years. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced this scheme in the Union Budget for the financial year 2024-25. Praising the scheme, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that unemployment allowance is not a real solution. Developing skills is a better option.

Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that this is a complete internship program. Under this, efforts will be made to provide training opportunities to the selected candidates in their own district or nearby district. To run this entire program, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has created a portal and everyone can access that portal by visiting pminternship.mca.gov.in.
