Ravi Pradosh Vrat Katha (Ravi Pradosh Vrat Katha in Hindi)

There are many mythological stories about Pradosh Vrat , one of which we will mention today. It is a story of ancient times that a brahmani used to live in Ambapur village. Her husband had passed away, due to which she used to earn her living by begging. One day when she was returning after begging, she met two small children in a sad state, seeing whom she became very upset.

She started wondering who the parents of these two children were? After this she brought both the children home with her. After some time the children grew up. One day Brahmaani took both the children to Rishi Shandilya. After greeting Rishi Shandilya, she expressed her desire to know about the parents of both the children.

Then Rishi Shandilya told that "O Goddess! These two boys are the princes of the King of Vidarbha. Their kingdom has been snatched away by the attack of the King of Gandharbha. Hence, both of them have been dethroned from the kingdom." Hearing this, the Brahmini said that "O great sage! Tell me a way so that they can get their kingdom back." On which Rishi Shandilya told her to observe Pradosh fast. After this, the Brahmini and both the princes observed Pradosh fast with devotion. Then in those days, the elder prince of the King of Vidarbha met Anshumati.

Both agreed to get married. Knowing this, Anshumati's father helped the princes in the war against the Gandharbha King, due to which the princes won the war. Due to the effect of Pradosh Vrat, those princes got their kingdom back. Pleased with this, those princes gave a special place to the Brahmin woman in the court, due to which the Brahmin woman's poverty was removed and she started living her life happily.
