Uttarakhand News: Police has arrested a youth named Arif Khan in Chamoli, Uttarakhand for making obscene gestures to a minor. Now many things are coming to light in this case that non-Hindu posters have been put up in many villages of Chamoli. Regarding this, AIMIM state president Kazmi has met state police chief DGP Abhinav Kumar. Kazmi has demanded from the police that shops of Muslims have been targeted. Posters and banners are being put up against them in the area, due to which there is an atmosphere of panic among all the Muslims working there.

 

The controversy over the sexual assault on a minor in Chamoli, Uttarakhand continues. Meanwhile, it is being claimed that threatening boards have been put up at different places in the state for non-Hindus and Rohingya Muslims. These boards allegedly carry warnings prohibiting their entry, movement and business. In this connection, two Muslim delegations met Uttarakhand Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar and demanded security.

 

AIMIM leader met Uttarakhand DGP 

Nayyar Kazmi, leader of Asaduddin Owaisi's party in Uttarakhand and state president of AIMIM, while talking to ABP Live, said that he met the Uttarakhand DGP and told him that some people in the state are harming mutual harmony and the image of Uttarakhand by targeting minorities. For this, the police should take concrete action so that no one feels that they are being suppressed. 

 

There was a ruckus over the matter 

A few days ago, a mob in Nandanagar, Chamoli, vandalised the shops of about a dozen Muslims. A man named Arif Khan, who works in a barber shop, was accused of making obscene gestures to a minor girl living in the neighbourhood. The local people got angry over the matter and protested fiercely. In this case, the police registered an FIR against 300 unknown people. The accused youth Arif Khan has also been arrested.

 

AIMIM has written a letter to the Director General of Police on this matter. In a letter written to the DGP on this matter, Nayyar Kazmi has said that we all know that an unpleasant incident happened in Chamoli due to just one allegation. That is condemnable. Local majority groups created an atmosphere by giving hate speeches against the local minority Muslims, after which the local people targeted the shops, houses and places of worship of Muslims and looted and pelted stones.

 

Warning boards for Muslims installed in Uttarakhand 

 

Nayyar Kazmi claimed that many Muslims of Nandghat have migrated due to fear and warning boards have been put up for Muslims at different places in the state. At the same time, Kazmi has told the DGP that you hope that the Muslims affected by the incident will be rehabilitated and strict and fair legal action will be taken against the persons involved so that the victims can get individual and collective justice. Nayyar Kazmi further said that he has photographs of boards installed at many places in Rudraprayag district, in which non-Hindus and Rohingya Muslims have been threatened with serious and legal consequences if they are found roaming or doing business in their villages.
