New Delhi: Government oil marketing companies update petrol and diesel prices every day at 6 am since 2017. However, there has been no major change in these prices for the last few months. The government last reduced the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per liter in March 2024 before the Lok Sabha elections.
Recently, investment firm CLSA had said that petrol and diesel prices may come down after October 5, 2024. At the same time, Swiss brokerage firm USB has also estimated that the government may soon cut the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 2 to Rs 3 per liter, because oil marketing companies are making a profit of Rs 10-15 per liter on both these fuels. However, no official information has come about this yet.

The price of one litre petrol in Delhi is Rs 94.76 and the price of diesel is Rs 87.66 per litre.
In Mumbai, the price of petrol is ₹ 103.43 per litre and diesel is priced at ₹ 89.95 per litre.
In Kolkata, the price of petrol is ₹ 104.93 per litre and diesel is ₹ 91.75 per litre.
The price of petrol in Chennai is Rs 100.73 per liter and diesel is Rs 92.32 per liter.
