There is a famous story related to Bollywood's Dabangg Salman Khan that he always reaches late on the sets of the film. It is said that during the shooting of Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Aamir Khan also got angry due to Salman's lateness. Many others have also made similar claims.
Well, the claims of Salman Khan's lateness have also affected his career as people are scared of working with him. Recently, for the first time, the actor has reacted to the claims of his lateness.
Salman Khan spoke on the allegations of being late on the set
Speaking to India Today about claims of him coming late, Sallu Miyan, who is promoting Sikandar , said, “There are many stories of me coming late and not being serious about work. I have done more than 100 films-more than anyone except my seniors. If I was constantly coming late or leaving early, it wouldn't have been possible. Discipline is 100 per cent, but my timings are different.”
A tent is set up for Salman on the set itself
Salman Khan further added, "While some people start work at 6 am, I start around 11:30–12 am because I have a lot of other things to do, like signing papers, making calls and working out. Then I have to come back, relax, have my coffee and understand the scene. Rashmika (Mandana) knows that once I am on the set, I don't even go back or sit in my van. They put up a tent wherever needed and I stay there."
People are scared to work with Salman
Salman Khan said that because of these claims people are afraid to work with him. According to the actor, "I have some friends who like to share these moments, talk about my timing. For them it is a compliment, but what happens is that this makes people shy away from working with me. It makes them think that I don't have to work hard."
"People think 'he just stands, goes and does his job'. But that's not true. There's a lot of hard work that's not visible. I try not to show it, but mentally my mind is constantly working, especially on scenes and emotions. I'm also a writer's son, so thinking and analysing comes naturally to me," Salman said.
