Two BJP MPs, who were injured in the recent scuffle between opposition and NDA members in the Parliament complex, were discharged from the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital on Monday. Pratap Sarangi (69) from Odisha and Mukesh Rajput from Uttar Pradesh were brought to the hospital from Parliament with head injuries on December 19. "The condition of both the MPs is better now and they have been discharged," a senior doctor said. They were kept under observation in the ICU and were shifted to a ward on Saturday.
Mukesh Rajput became unconscious after getting injured
According to doctors, Sarangi has a heart disease and has a stent inserted in it. RML Hospital MS Dr Shukla had earlier said that the MRI and CT scan did not reveal the injury to be serious. According to Dr Shukla, when Sarangi was brought, he was bleeding profusely from his forehead. Dr Shukla said, "He had a deep wound on his forehead and we had to stitch it." He had said, "Rajput also suffered a head injury, after which he fainted immediately. However, the MP was conscious when he was brought to the hospital. His blood pressure was very high."
PM Modi had enquired about the condition of both the MPs
After being admitted to the hospital, many BJP MPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi enquired about their health. PM Modi spoke to Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput over the phone and enquired about their health. PM Modi told both the MPs not to worry and that they will be fine. After this, many leaders including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Giriraj Singh went to the hospital and met both the MPs.
