Geo News said that 24-year-old Captain Hasnain Akhtar lost his life during the encounter. Hasnain was in charge of the soldiers.

Terrorist attacks increased by 42 percent in one month

According to a Geo News report, the think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) said in its data that there was a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in the country in January 2025. This increase is 42% more than the previous month.

Data revealed that at least 74 terrorist attacks have taken place across the country. These have resulted in 91 deaths. The dead include 35 security personnel, 20 civilians and 36 terrorists. 117 people have been injured. These include 53 security forces, 54 civilians and 10 terrorists.

Terrorists carried out 27 attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In this, 17 people including 11 security personnel and six civilians lost their lives. 46 people were killed in 19 attacks in tribal districts of KP. This includes 13 security personnel, 8 civilians and 25 terrorists.
