New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra today where he will inaugurate the city's first fully underground metro line, the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Mumbai Metro Line 3. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and perform bhoomi pujan for other development projects in Mumbai. A 12.69-km stretch of Mumbai Metro Line 3 between Aarey JVLR and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) will be partially opened.

Regarding his Mumbai visit, PM Modi wrote on Instagram that tomorrow, a confluence of development and heritage will be seen in the inauguration and foundation stone laying of several projects in Maharashtra. After the inauguration of Banjara Heritage Museum in Washim at around 11.30 am, I will be a part of the farmers' program. After this, I will participate in a development program in Thane.

The event will be attended by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, as well as other dignitaries.

Will talk to students and workers in the metro

PM Modi will arrive at BKC metro station for the flagging off ceremony of Line 3 and experience the ride from BKC to Santacruz metro station before returning to BKC. During the journey, he will interact with Ladki Behen beneficiaries, students and workers on board the train.

A mobile app will also be launched

The Prime Minister will also launch MetroConnect3, a mobile app designed to enhance the travel experience with modern amenities. A coffee table book showcasing the journey of Mumbai's underground Metro will also be unveiled by the Prime Minister. The book is a collection of stunning visuals that detail the evolution of the Metro.

will lay the foundation stone of metro rail project

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 12,200 crore. The total length of the project is 29 km with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This ambitious infrastructure project is a major initiative to meet the growing transportation needs of Thane, a major industrial and commercial hub of Maharashtra.
