The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers
Two powerful earthquakes struck Southeast Asia on Friday, shaking buildings in the Thai capital Bangkok and neighboring Myanmar, forcing people to evacuate. According to initial reports, the US Geological Survey and Germany's GFZ Geological Center said the quake struck at noon at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Its epicenter was in neighboring Myanmar. A second quake of magnitude 6.4 struck 12 minutes later.
Announcement of all possible help
In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said, "I am concerned about the situation arising in the wake of earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand. Praying for the safety and well-being of all. India stands ready to provide all possible assistance."
