UP News: Congress has declared Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as its candidate from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala after the Election Commission announced the dates for the by-elections on Tuesday. The party has announced the names of candidates for Palakkad and Chelakkara assembly seats in Kerala. After this announcement, Yogi government minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has reacted.

Yogi's minister Dinesh Pratap Singh has given his reaction by writing a social media post. Apart from Priyanka Gandhi, Congress has fielded Rahul Mamkutthil and Ramya Haridas from Palakkad. 

When will the election be held?
The Chief Election Commissioner on Tuesday announced the dates for the by-election on the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Voting will be held in Wayanad on November 13 and the results will be declared on November 23. According to the Election Commission's schedule, the last date for filing nominations for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat is October 25.

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 30. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who won from Wayanad again in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, later resigned from this seat because apart from Wayanad, he also won from Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh. He had decided to keep the Rae Bareli seat out of the two.

Let us tell you that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat twice in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In this Lok Sabha election, he won the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat along with Wayanad. After this, as per the rules, he resigned from one seat. He chose Wayanad to resign and decided to remain an MP from Rae Bareli. Rae Bareli is the traditional seat of his mother Sonia Gandhi.
