A huge crowd of devotees is gathering in the Mahakumbh Mela area ahead of the second Amrit Snan of Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 on the day of Mauni Amavasya on January 29. Keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees, the Railways will run 60 special trains tomorrow i.e. on January 29. On the arrangements made by the Indian Railways before Mauni Amavasya, Chairman and CEO of Railway Board Satish Kumar said that we have planned carefully and learned from our experience on January 13-14.
190 special trains will run on Wednesday
Apart from the previous 60 special trains will run in the scheduled number on Wednesday. In total 190 special trains will run. 110 regular trains will run as usual on that route. Train will be available from Prayagraj every 4 minutes and this is a big achievement. Officials and railway employees are deployed and on alert. We are taking updates from them every minute.
About 10 thousand RPF jawans will be deployed
Satish Kumar said that the war room has become active. We expect at least 10 crore visitors on Wednesday. All our machinery is very active and is in coordination with the state government. 8000-10000 RPF jawans are deployed in trains and railway stations for the convenience of passengers.
Trains will run from nine stations
Railways said that more than 150 trains will be run from Prayagraj Junction, Subedarganj, Naini, Prayagraj Chheoki, Prayag Junction, Phaphamau, Prayagraj Rambagh, Prayagraj Sangam and Jhunsi. Senior Public Relations Officer of Prayagraj Railway Division Amit Malviya said that more than 150 fair special trains will be operated on Mauni Amavasya on January 29, most of which will run from Prayagraj Junction. He said that along with regular trains, special trains will also be run from other stations of the division on their scheduled time.
Ticketing system will be available at railway stations
In view of the increase in passengers, the railway division has implemented a colour-coded ticketing system and set up additional shelter arrangements at stations. In addition, extensive security protocols have been implemented, including deployment of AI-based CCTV cameras, sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads in key areas. Mock drills have been conducted involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) to deal with any emergency.
