A Delhi court on Monday accepted the closure report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the corruption case against former Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Dhruv Batra. The court said that there is no flaw in the report of the investigating agency. We are satisfied with the investigation done by the investigating officer. After this decision of the court, Narinder Dhruv Batra's statement has come.

Statement of Narinder Dhruv Batra

Narinder Dhruv Batra said, "I have no complaints against those who wanted to weaken me as I did not have any political godfather. In our system it is often said that one cannot dream big without strong support. However, I have always believed in hard work, honesty and dedication."

He also said, "The posts from which I resigned were as follows-

  • Member, International Olympic Committee (2019–2022)
  • President, International Hockey Federation (2016–2022)
  • President, Indian Olympic Association (2017–2022)
  • President, Commonwealth Games Association of India (2017–2022)

"Held all four positions simultaneously"

He further said, "I was the only person in the world who held all these four posts simultaneously, it was an honor and responsibility which I fulfilled with full honesty and commitment as an Indian." Narinder Dhruv Batra said on his contribution to Indian sports, "India's bronze medal win in hockey after 41 years in the Tokyo Olympics, the country's participation in 18 out of 32 sports and getting a historic 7 medals was no coincidence. It was the result of all the planning, strategic execution and cooperation of all concerned parties." He further said, "From 2009 to 2022, I worked 18 hours every day to take Indian sports forward. I am very proud of what was achieved during this period."

Praise for PM Modi

Batra praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, "I am grateful that at this time India has a Prime Minister who values ​​sports, prioritizes the well-being of sportspersons and is working to create world-class infrastructure for sports. I salute his vision and dedication."

He said, "As I said at the outset, I hold no ill-will against anybody. I believe destiny has its way and I accept my destiny humbly. May God bless those who have supported me and may he also bless those who opposed me and worked to remove me."
