Anuj Pratap Singh: The case of the death of Anuj Pratap Singh, who was killed in a police encounter in Unnao district in the famous Sultanpur dacoity case, has reached the threshold of the Human Rights Commission. In this case, Allahabad High Court advocate and social activist Gajendra Singh Yadav has complained to the National Human Rights Commission, calling the encounter fake and has demanded a high-level investigation into it.
In the complaint filed with the commission, it has also been said that such encounters are a direct violation of human rights. Therefore, it has become extremely important to curb such incidents. On the complaint of Gajendra Singh Yadav, the State Human Rights Commission is investigating the case of the death of Mangesh Yadav who was killed in an encounter in the same robbery case.
Doubts expressed on the encounter
The complaint states that the encounter of Anuj Pratap Singh is under suspicion. The circumstances of the encounter, the morning time, one of the accused running away and the story of firing and trying to escape when challenged by the police team are similar to all the earlier encounters. Here also the police has created the same story which is usually repeated in every encounter. In the complaint, the National Human Rights Commission has been told that like Mangesh Yadav, a high-level investigation is needed in this case as well. There has also been a demand to curb such incidents to prevent violation of human rights.
It is noteworthy that in the famous Sultanpur jewelers robbery case, a special team of UP police killed an accused named Anuj Pratap Singh in an encounter in Unnao this morning. Anuj Pratap Singh, a resident of Amethi district, had a reward of one lakh rupees on his head. There is a lot of politics going on over this encounter. Many people are looking at it from the perspective of caste, while most people say that criminals have no caste and criminals should not be supported or defended on the basis of caste.
Report summoned from Sultanpur DM
On the complaint of Gajendra Singh Yadav, the State Human Rights Commission has summoned a report from the Sultanpur DM in this matter. After this, on 20th September the police had an encounter with Ajay Yadav, another accused in this case. Ajay Yadav was shot in the encounter. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The main accused in the robbery case has already surrendered to the police, while some accused are still absconding.
