The investigation revealed that this truck van was being driven by a man named Shamsuddin Jabbar. The flag of the terrorist organization ISIS was hoisted on his truck van.

Video circulating on social media shows Jabbar’s white pickup truck with Texas plates and an ISIS flag weaving through traffic on Canal Street, and then making a high-speed turn onto Bourbon Street.

In another video, a white Ford pickup truck can be seen speeding through the crowded French Quarter on New Year’s Day as party-goers ran for their lives.

On New Year’s Day, Jabbar, a former US Army soldier, with an ISIS flag on his truck, drove through makeshift barricades and crushed people in New Orleans’ crowded French Quarter, killing 15 people and injuring 30 others.

According to the information received, he was recruited in the US Army in 2007. He has worked in the HR and IT team there. He has also been posted in Afghanistan. He was present there between 2009 and 2010. In the year 2015, he was posted in the reserve army. He became a Staff Sergeant in the year 2020. After that he retired.
