For the by-election on the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, the BJP has fielded Navya Haridas against Congress' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Rahul Gandhi had won this seat in the elections held in June. However, he also won from Rae Bareli and decided to remain an MP from there. After this, by-elections are being held on this seat. Voting here is to be held on November 13 and the results will be declared on November 23.

Who is Navya Haridas?

39-year-old Navya Haridas has been a two-time councillor in the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation and is the BJP Parliamentary Party leader in the corporation. She is also the state general secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha. She holds a BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering from KMCT Engineering College, affiliated to Calicut University. Wayanad needs development

After filing her nomination from the Wayanad seat, Navya said, "The people of Wayanad need development there. The Congress family is not really fulfilling the needs of the people of Wayanad. After this election, the residents of Wayanad need a better member in Parliament who can address their issues." Haridas stressed the importance of a leader who prioritises the concerns of local people. "I have administrative experience, I have been elected councillor twice in Kerala. So, for the last eight years I have been in the political field, serving the people, knowing their problems and always with them," she said.

CPI gave ticket to Satyan Mokeri
