Otherwise, after September 30, NDMC will charge you a huge penalty on property tax along with interest. NDMC has made it clear that now the last date for paying tax will not be extended. If you still do not pay the tax, then you may have to suffer a big loss. 

Keep in mind, 30 September 2024 is your last chance to pay tax without surcharge. Till this period, property owners will be able to pay their outstanding tax without any additional amount. Not only this, during this period, NDMC is also giving a five percent discount on the principal amount to those who deposit the outstanding tax. 

Most of the defaulters are from Connaught Place 

NDMC officials say that the highest property tax is due from people living in Connaught Place and its surrounding areas. In fact, NDMC collects property tax from a total of 16 thousand properties in New Delhi area. Out of these, 6735 properties are in Connaught Place and surrounding areas. Most of the properties are commercial. While there are 1600 government buildings, from which tax is collected in the form of service charge. Most of the people in Connaught Place and its surrounding areas have not yet paid the outstanding tax.

Let us tell you that property owners or tenants can get complete information about tax or rent on their property and other details by visiting NDMC's website www.ndmc.gov.in. For this, defaulters will have to login to the NDMC website using their ID and password. After getting complete information through the website, you can also pay the dues online. 

NDMC has appealed to the people to pay their property tax or rent on time and avoid huge fines.
