New Delhi: Continuous efforts have been made for 'Ease of Living' in cities, but the Modi government will now work on mission mode to increase ease of living in rural India. The Panchayati Raj Ministry is going to start work with a complete roadmap to bring citizen-centric services on the ground at a fast pace through Panchayati Raj institutions.

Four workshops are being organized across the country to discuss the experiences, opportunities and challenges related to this. In the first series, a workshop titled 'Ease of Living: Enhancing Service Delivery at the Grassroots' Panchayat Sammelan is going to be held in Hyderabad on October 22, in which seven states will participate.

People's representatives and concerned officials of Panchayati Raj institutions of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Odisha and Telangana will participate in this workshop being organised by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad.

Here, strategies for reaching public services to the last person in 29 sectors related to agriculture, health, education, social welfare and public distribution system are to be discussed in detail. In the workshop to be chaired by Vivek Bhardwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the invited representatives will share their experiences, opportunities and challenges related to public-centric services.

The objective of this conference is to prepare a comprehensive roadmap by sharing the strategies, good works and suggestions of the states to realize ease of living in villages by bringing public services on the ground. As per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the goal is to move towards achieving the goal of reaching citizen-centric schemes to the last person of the society in the villages.

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will also make a detailed presentation. The representatives coming from the states will be told to take the help of technology in service delivery. For example, Bhashini is to be used to overcome the language barrier, UNICEF's RapidPro platform for communication and Service Plus for online delivery system.
