UP Assembly Bypolls 2024 Date: By-elections are to be held for 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. By-elections are also to be held in Meerapur, Muzaffarnagar. RLD's Chandan Chauhan became MLA from Meerapur assembly seat in the 2022 assembly elections. Then RLD and SP contested the assembly elections together. Now RLD is with BJP and in the Lok Sabha elections , RLD MLA Chandan Chauhan reached the Lok Sabha with the support of BJP. In such a situation, Meerapur assembly seat became vacant and by-election is to be held on it. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary is a minister at the Center and he wants to win the Meerapur seat at any cost.
Let us tell you that the dates for the Meerapur assembly by-election have been announced. Voting for this seat will be held on November 13 and counting will be done on November 23.
Caste equation of Meerapur seat:
The number of Muslim voters is more in Meerapur assembly seat. Here Muslim voters play an important role in the victory or defeat of any candidate. There are more than one lakh Muslim voters here, while more than 50 thousand are scheduled castes. Similarly, there are 24 thousand Jats and 18 thousand Gurjars. Chandan has got 50 percent votes from these two castes. At some places, scheduled caste voters have also been inclined towards the alliance. In such a situation, they have become the main basis of victory. In urban areas and Kakaroli, Bhokarheri belt, they have been leading in playing the main role in the victory of the alliance.
Let us tell you that in the 2022 assembly elections, there was news of Muslim voters getting scattered. But the election results showed exactly the opposite. Here, former MLA Maulana Jameel from BSP, Mohammad Salim Qureshi from Congress also failed to make inroads into Muslim voters. This SP and RLD alliance candidate Chandan Chauhan won.
