Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh has passed away at the age of 92 in AIIMS Hospital, Delhi. His death has sent a wave of mourning across the country.

 

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has a long association with Chandigarh. He studied at Punjab University and was also a professor there. In a ceremony, he donated 3500 of his books to Punjab University. Manmohan Singh also lived in a one-kanal house in Sector 11, Chandigarh.

 

Earned a master's degree in economics

Manmohan Singh obtained a Master's degree in Economics from Punjab University in 1954, after which he worked as a Senior Faculty of Economics at Punjab University from 1957 to 1966.

Manmohan Singh went abroad to pursue further studies. In 1957, he graduated in Economics with first class from Cambridge University, Britain. After this, he did his PhD in Economics from Nuffield College, Oxford University in 1962.

 

After completing his PhD abroad, he received the title of Doctor. After this, Manmohan Singh taught economics at Punjab University and Delhi School of Economics. Students liked him a lot as a teacher. Let us tell you that he was also appointed as the Secretary General in the South Commission in Geneva.
