The special court of the National Investigation Agency in the capital Lucknow has given the verdict. However, the court will announce the punishment of all these 28 accused on Friday.

The accused had filed a petition in the High Court for the legality of the NIA court and a stay on the hearing. After this, the Lucknow Bench of the High Court rejected the petition. After the petition was rejected by the High Court, the NIA Special Court of Lucknow has given the verdict on Thursday.
117 people were arrested
After this incident, the police arrested about 117 people including the main accused Wasim, Naseem, and Salim. The SIT team investigating this case filed a charge sheet against 24 people. Later, Abhishek Gupta alias Chandan Gupta's father Sushil Gupta appealed to the High Court to transfer the case to Lucknow, after which the case started being heard in the Lucknow court.

Regarding this incident, the police arrested the main accused three brothers Wasim, Naseem, Salim along with more than 100 people. Now after 8 years of legal battle, Chandan's father has got justice. On 26 January 2018, people of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad took out a Tiranga Yatra. It is alleged that during this time people of a particular community pelted stones on the Tiranga Yatra and then violence broke out. A youth named Chandan Gupta died in this violence.
