New Delhi: A political uproar has started over the statement of Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. In fact, on the occasion of the release of the Kannada version of a book, the minister claimed that Veer Savarkar was a non-vegetarian. He did not oppose cow slaughter. Savarkar used to eat 'beef' despite being a Chitpavan Brahmin. Now this statement of his has created an uproar. BJP targeted Congress on this issue. At the same time, Savarkar's grandson has talked about filing a defamation case against the minister.

The real face of Congress has come out: Ranjit Savarkar

Veer Savarkar's grandson Ranjit Savarkar cornered the Congress over the minister's statement. He announced to file a defamation case against minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Ranjit said that defaming Savarkar is the strategy of Congress. Especially during elections. To win elections, Congress wants to divide Hindus into castes. This was the divide and rule policy of the British. He further said that earlier Rahul Gandhi used to give statements against Savarkar. Now his leaders are giving statements. Congress has now shown its true face.

The minister's statement is absolutely false

Ranjit said that the minister's statement is absolutely false. His original article written in Marathi meant that cows are very useful. That is why they are considered deities. He was also the president of Gau Raksha Sammelan. I am going to file a defamation case against him. He further claimed that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi always followed the policies of Veer Savarkar and never followed a single policy of Nehru or Gandhi.

Congress does not know anything about Savarkar: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that Congressmen do not know anything about Veer Savarkar. They repeatedly insult him. Savarkar had expressed his opinion on cows very well. He had said that a cow helps a farmer from birth to death. Cows have been given the status of God. First of all Rahul Gandhi started making such false statements on Savarkar. I think they are trying to take it forward.

Have lost mental balance: Naqvi

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also objected to the Karnataka minister's statement. He said, "Such knowledge of these people proves that they have lost their mental balance. If they keep giving such knowledge, society will not take them seriously. They should go to a mental institution and gain knowledge about the great personalities of the country."
