The craze for Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met' has not diminished even today. This is one of those few films which even today, whenever it comes on TV, the audience does not move away from the TV. Kareena Kapoor played the character of 'Geet' in this film. The audience liked Kareena a lot in this film and with this Kareena also strengthened her hold among the audience. But, recently an actress revealed that this film was offered to her before Kareena. She had also signed the film, but at the last moment she had to leave the film. This actress is none other than Bhumika Chawla.

She got replaced in Jab We Met

Bhumika Chawla, who played the character of 'Nirjara' in 'Tere Naam', revealed that she was replaced in films like 'Jab We Met' and 'Munna Bhai MBBS'. Bhumika Chawla revealed this during a conversation with RJ Siddharth Kannan. The actress told that she felt disappointed only once and that was when Kareena Kapoor replaced her in Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met'. Bhumika also revealed during this time that she was also finalized for Sanjay Dutt starrer 'Munna Bhai MBBS', but Gracy Singh replaced her.

I felt bad only once- Bhumika

Bhumika, while talking about being replaced in Jab We Met, said, 'I felt bad only once and that was when I signed Jab We Met, but then could not work in the film. Then Bobby Deol was paired with me in the film. The film was named 'Train'. Then Shahid Kapoor replaced Bobby and I was with him. Then Shahid and Ayesha and after that Shahid and Kareena Kapoor were cast. This way things kept changing, but it doesn't matter. I felt bad only once and never after that, because I had moved on. I don't think much about it.'

Could not even work in Munnabhai

Bhumika further said, 'I had signed for Munna Bhai MBBS. But, it did not happen and then I could not work with Mani Ratnam sir in Kannathil Muthamittal. She also shared details of her conversation with Rajkumar Hirani, in which Hirani assured her that her replacement was not due to any mistake of hers. She told that such decisions are common in the entertainment industry and often these decisions are taken for different reasons, which are beyond the control of the actor.

Also worked in Punjabi film

Bhumika is known for her work in many film industries including Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema apart from Hindi. With her performance in 'Tere Naam', Bhumika became a star overnight. In the year 2008, she worked in the Punjabi film 'Yaariyan', in which she acted opposite Gurdas Maan. After this she appeared in Malayalam cinema. She worked in the film Bhramaram with superstar Mohanlal. She made a comeback in Bollywood with the 2023 film 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan'.
