
Israel carried out an airstrike on a suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, killing four people, including a Hezbollah commander, a Lebanese security official said on Tuesday. The latest attack has put the ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah in danger.
Israeli army issued a statement
The Israeli military said Hassan Badir was a member of a Hezbollah unit and Iran's Quds Force. He had helped Hamas plot attacks against Israeli civilians.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has also confirmed the killing of Hassan and his son. His son was also a member of Hezbollah. While a Lebanese security official said that Hassan was a middle-ranking commander.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said four people, including a woman, were killed and several others injured in the airstrike. This is the second Israeli airstrike in five days on a Hezbollah-controlled Beirut suburb.
Journalist killed in Israeli attack
A Palestinian journalist, his wife and children were killed in Gaza in Israeli airstrikes. Mohammad Salah was associated with Hamas-affiliated Aqsa Radio. While a 17-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank died in Israeli custody. He was in custody for six months without any charges. The reasons for the death are not clear. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has warned the people of northern Gaza to vacate the area after the rocket attack.
Claim to have shot down American drone
Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed on Tuesday that they have shot down another US MQ-9 Reaper drone. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sari claimed to have shot down the US drone in a pre-recorded video message. Meanwhile, the US has intensified air strikes to target the Houthi rebels.
