Currently, amid political turmoil in Bangladesh, the central government has increased the security of the border. Recently, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on 5 August in the wake of massive protests and left the country and came to India, after which political upheaval continues in Bangladesh.

In such a situation, after the political turmoil and unrest in Bangladesh, the BSF has increased its vigilance on the international border to thwart attempts of illegal entry into India by the citizens of that country.
