Congress, which is engaged in efforts to strengthen the organization at the village and ward level, has also taken seriously the financial challenges that come in the way. The party's top leadership is trying to collect the details of all the properties of Congress across the country. It has sought a report from the district and city presidents on how to best utilize which property so that income can be generated and organisational activities can be conducted without any difficulty. Congress has been out of power in many states for a long time. This has had a political impact in the form of a weak organisation and has also had a great impact on the financial condition of the party.

The high command is busy in strengthening the organization on the ground

The top leadership has expressed the financial challenges faced in contesting elections many times and in frequent meetings, state and district officials have also drawn attention to the fact that lack of funds is coming in the way of smooth running of the organisation. Now, since the Congress high command has launched a special campaign to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level, it has also included the aspect of financial crisis in its concerns. What the leadership is thinking about to overcome this was also shared in the meeting held recently with the newly appointed district and city presidents. Sources who were present in the meeting said that some presidents raised the demand that if the top leadership provides some financial support, it will help in taking the organization's work forward faster. On this, a senior official present on the stage said that the party has given some thought to this.

Local units of Congress have many old properties

Actually, local units of Congress across the country have a lot of old properties. Some district and city presidents have done some wrong. Without looking at the party's interest, they have made the properties controversial or have benefited the defendant by colluding in old disputes. Apart from this, many valuable properties are not being used properly. The senior official told the district and city presidents to collect the details of all the properties of Congress in their area.

Mark the properties which are non-controversial and submit a report on how they can be used so that the party can earn income. For example, if the premises are big. Apart from sufficient space for the office, if there is land left, then it can be used for commercial purposes. Similarly, prepare a report on disputed properties so that efforts can be made to resolve them in consultation with the local, state or AICC legal cell.
