Pushpak Express Train Accident: An accident took place in Jalgaon district of North Maharashtra on Wednesday (22 January) evening. Some passengers who got down on the tracks after rumours of fire in the Pushpak Express train were hit by another train coming from the opposite direction on the nearby tracks. 11 people died in the incident. Now a statement from the railways has also come out on this accident.

Central Railway CPRO Dr Swapnil Neela said, "There was a chain pulling incident in Pushpak Express. After this incident, some passengers got down from the train and were standing there. At the same time, Karnataka Express coming from the other side was passing from there. We have received information that some passengers were hit by that train. Many passengers are reported to be injured in this. We have taken help from the local administration for their treatment."

He said that a relief medical van has also left from the railway side. After that we will be able to help the injured. According to the information received from the railway in the investigation so far, smoke came out from the engine of Pushpak Express in the fourth general compartment due to brake binding.

8 ambulances on the spot 
. Regarding this incident, Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam in Nashik said, "According to the information, 11 people have died in the accident and many others are injured. Police and other officials are on the spot. 8 ambulances and several railway rescue vans have been sent to the spot. The District Collector and DRM are in touch and all possible help is being provided."

CM Fadnavis announced compensation
CM Devendra Fadnavis has also announced compensation for this tragic accident. Chief Minister Fadnavis said, "The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those killed in the unfortunate accident in Jalgaon district. The state government will also bear the entire expenses of the injured. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured."
