On Friday, there was rain and snowfall in some parts of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir. Most places in Himachal remained cloudy. Light rain continued in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in many districts of Uttarakhand. Similarly, a flash flood alert has been issued for more than 10 districts of Bihar within the next 24 hours.
Snowfall in Rohtang, Shinkula and Baralacha in Himachal
In Himachal, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur and Shimla received rain on Friday, while Rohtang, Shinkula and Baralacha received snowfall. Due to rain and snowfall, the maximum temperature has dropped by two to three degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature has dropped by two to four degrees. According to experts, this change in weather and rain is not good for the paddy crop. At the same time, due to the rain on Wednesday and Thursday, 33 roads in the state are closed for traffic. Eight transformers are damaged, due to which power supply is disrupted in some areas.
First snowfall of the season in Gulmarg
The weather in Kashmir, which was in the grip of heat due to the temperature remaining above normal for the last several days, changed on Friday. The first snowfall of the season occurred in the tourist destination Gulmarg's Afarwat, Gurez, Rajdan Top, Sinthan Top and other high mountain areas and heavy rains occurred in lower areas including Srinagar. Temperatures have dropped due to heavy rains in the morning in Jammu division. In some places, the paddy crop has been damaged due to storm and heavy rains in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will start improving from September 28. The weather will remain dry till October 5. However, light rain may occur in some high mountain areas on Saturday.
Heavy rain expected in six districts of Uttarakhand
Light rain continued in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand on Friday as well. In the last two days, it has been raining intermittently in most parts of the state. According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, there may be heavy rains with thunder and lightning in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar on Saturday. A yellow alert for rain has been issued in these districts. With this, the monsoon may leave Uttarakhand by October 3.
Flash flood alert in Bihar
In Bihar, Bagmati is flowing beyond the danger mark, while Kosi and Gandak are also in spate. In Bihar, a flash flood alert has been issued in 13 districts including Patna within the next 24 hours. The Disaster Management Department has sent a warning to the District Magistrates of the districts where there is a flash flood alert. At the same time, a warning of excessive rainfall has been issued in five districts.
Darjeeling's appearance deteriorated due to rain
The condition of Darjeeling, a world famous tourist destination in Bengal, has deteriorated due to heavy rains these days.
