Under the ceasefire, Hamas will release Israeli female soldier Agam Berger (20), a woman named Arbel Yehud (29) and 80-year-old man Gedi Moses. It is not yet known which Thai citizens Hamas will release. According to news agency 'AP', out of the 110 people Israel is releasing, 30 are those who were serving life imprisonment after being found guilty of dangerous attacks against Israel. Those released also include former extremist Zakaria Zubeidi, who escaped from jail in 2021. He was later captured.

5 lakh Palestinians return to northern Gaza

After the Israeli attacks, more than 5 lakh Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza. There is a need for help there. Hamas has reacted to Israel's withdrawal from sending humanitarian aid. Hamas had warned that if Israel does not send humanitarian aid to Gaza, the process of releasing prisoners may be disrupted.

Israel imposed sanctions on UN agency

Meanwhile, Israel has imposed a ban on the UN agency UNRWA. This ban will apply to East Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank. Meanwhile, Hamas handed over 20-year-old Israeli soldier Agam Berger to the Red Cross at the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Berger was one of the five young, female soldiers kidnapped in the October 7 attack. Earlier, 23 Thai people were also among the more than 100 hostages released during a week-long ceasefire in November 2023. According to Israel, eight Thai people are in captivity, of which 2 have died.

The US, Egypt and Qatar, who mediated the ceasefire after a challenging negotiation process of a year, implemented the ceasefire agreement.
