Method of worshiping Govardhan (Govardhan Pujan Vidhi)
- Devotees should wake up early in the morning, take a bath and take a vow to fast before starting the puja rituals.
- First of all clean your house and the place where you want to make the idol of Lord Krishna and Govardhan mountain.
- After cleaning, bring cow dung into the house and make a beautiful image of Lord Krishna along with Govardhan mountain.
- Light a lamp of pure ghee, apply tilak with roli and offer mauli, puffed rice, sweets, fruits etc.
- On this auspicious day, it is customary to prepare Annakoot, which is a mixture of many types of vegetables and curry rice, this special offering is offered to Lord Krishna.
- Give a bath to mother cow, offer her kumkum, flowers, incense, lamp, green fodder etc.
- Be sure to do charity and good deeds on this day.
- This festival is believed to symbolize the victory of Lord Krishna over Lord Indra.
