Uttarakhand News Today: There is good news for the candidates waiting for a government job in Uttarakhand, as the Forest Department is going to start the recruitment process on a large scale. The Forest Department, which has been facing a shortage of field staff for a long time, has now sent a requisition for the recruitment of Assistant Forest Conservator (ACF), Ranger (RO) and Forest Guards.

Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has started the application process for the posts of ACF, Ranger and Lagging Officer, while preparations are being made to send requisition for the posts of Forest Guard soon. Many posts in the Forest Department were vacant for a long time, which was affecting the protection of forests and wildlife conservation.

Recruitment will be done on these posts
Despite the recent recruitment of Sub Divisional Forest Officers (SDO), many posts are still vacant. In such a situation, the department had sent a requisition to the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission for recruitment to three ACF posts. There is also a shortage of Rangers (Forest Range Officers) in the department. To overcome this, a proposal has been sent for recruitment to 31 RO (Range Officer) posts.

Apart from this, recruitment for 12 lagging officer posts in Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation will also be done through the commission. 81 forest guards are to be recruited under Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) in Corbett Tiger Reserve. There were some flaws in the earlier requisition, which have been corrected and a new requisition has been sent.

Chief Forest Conservator (Human Resources and Personnel Management) Meenakshi Joshi said that the recruitment plan for the forest guard posts has been prepared and the requisition will be sent soon. Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has released the date for applying and depositing fees for the Assistant Forest Conservator (ACF), Lagging Officer and Forest Range Officer (RO) combined examination.

Recruitment is important to stop smuggling.
Due to the lack of field staff in the forest department, questions have been raised many times regarding the safety of forests in the state. More staff is needed to deal with problems like forest smuggling, illegal felling and hunting of wildlife in the dense forests of Uttarakhand. In the last few years, the process of new recruitment in the forest department was slow, but now the department is trying to fill the vacant posts rapidly.

Officials say that recruitment of new employees will help in strengthening forest conservation and management. Deployment of new employees will improve the security system of forests. Having adequate staff in the forest area will help in wildlife conservation. Problems like illegal logging, wildlife hunting and smuggling in forests can be controlled.

Apart from this, the recruitment process will provide opportunities to the youth in government jobs. The Forest Department will not be limited to just these recruitments. The department is preparing new proposals to fill more field staff posts soon. The Forest Department may announce many more recruitments in the coming months.
