Jammu Kashmir Snowfall: Gulmarg and Sonamarg, which are among the special tourist places of Jammu and Kashmir, received fresh snowfall overnight on Monday (21 January). While the minimum temperature in the valley has increased, giving relief to the people living here from severe cold. Meteorological Department officials have given information in this regard on Tuesday (21 January). Snowfall was also recorded on the Zojila axis on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway.
Night temperature rises in the valley
Cloudy weather led to an increase in night temperatures in the valley. The minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at 1 degree Celsius on Monday (January 21) night, up from minus 3.2 degrees Celsius the previous night. Pahalgam, one of the base camps for the Amarnath Yatra in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, up four degrees from minus 6.4 degrees Celsius the previous night.

Kupwara recorded a temperature of 1 degree Celsius and Kokernag recorded a temperature of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
